As used with the KME Knife Sharpening System

Permanent markers can be used to accurately sharpen blades at the original sharpening bevel angle.  Simply mark the bevel with the permanent marker, adjust sharpening angle so that a light swipe across the sharpening surface completly removes the marker ink across the bevel surface.  This will then indicate the sharpening angle matches the original bevel angle.
