Boker Boy Scout Stag Lockback Folder Knife - Model 112403

German design, engineering and manufacturing!

Today, nobody could say whether 30 years ago, anyone could have predicted that the Boker Scout would spend more than three decades as one of the most successful and most popular from Boker's product range. But these 30 years are definitely noteworthy in times of flash-in-the-pan fashion statements that are not uncommon in the knife market. While no other model has had as many versions as the Scout over its 30 years, the basic specifications never changed. The new Boy Scout model breaks with this tradition and - while not changing the design - provides a smaller, pocket-friendlier version that plays to its strength primarily as compact everyday companion. At a blade length of 5.7 cm, the Boy Scout also has a significantly lower profile, yet is just as rugged and durable as its big brother. Boker used N690 as the blade steel, which has successfully been employed in recent years on a wide range of their knives. The silver-nickel scales are CNC-machined for greater precision.

The tree in the centre of the Boker logo commemorates the chestnut tree that shaded the Boker factory from the time it was founded in the late 17th century until 1925 when it was struck by lightning. Although the tree is gone its image has survived for the past 100 years as the 'tree brand logo', a fitting symbol of Bokers quality workmanship. Arbolito, which also appears on the logo is Spanish for "little tree" as it is the recognised trade name of Boker knives in Central and South America. Baumworke means "Treeworks" in German and Tree Brand is the recognised Boker trade name in the US. Those who value fine cutlery may have heard of Solingen Steel - the highest quality cutlery steel available any where in the world. This prized steel was actually named for the city of Solingen, Germany, home of Boker tree Brand knives. The Boker name is a part of this rich, more than a century old, legacy of fine cutlery. Boker manufactures the largest assortment of high-quality knives for sportsmen and collectors with an unsurpassed variety of materials for blades and handles. Today, Boker knives range from 320-layer Damascus steel to very modern ceramics, with handles ranging from high-quality mother-of-pearl to Thuya root wood and state-of-the-art synthetics. The finish of Boker knives is of the highest standard and they are of exceptional quality.
