Works well for odd-shaped blades and serrated kniv

I bought this to sharpen a serrated bread knife as well as a serrated tomato knife (both Wüsthof). The rod works very well for that. It's fine enough not to make a mess of things, and it fits into the serrations nicely. Since then, I've also used it to sharpen a cleaver and a mincing knife (which are very difficult to sharpen on a stone, due to the weight (cleaver) and odd shape (mincing knife). The rod also works well for other odd-shaped blades, such as an apple corer and various wood carving knives. Cheap and effective. Recommended!
